I like using Pinterest to gather ideas and get inspired; other tool I use is Google maps, street view. I like to take time to visit cities like Paris, Italy, and Spain (in street view that is) to get inspired, even if what I’m writing about is not related in anyway to them.

Something else I did not long ago was getting a typewriter. Yes, those big and bulky machines that make noise, tak tak tak ting… I clear up my desk, put my typewriter (that weights like 30 pounds) in the center and start typing. Believe it or not, that thing gets me inspired and I produce great content with it. There’s no distractions, no Facebook checking, no Twitter, no Reddit, nada… just me and my typewriter. It works. I got it for $30 from an antique store and the ink ribbons from Amazon for cheap. I then scan the document and using PDFpenpro (i’m in no way endorsing this program) I OCR it and exported it to Word. It takes a bit to get used to, as the ‘keys’ are hard and you really have to push them.. but that’s part of the fun.
